Leader In Practice Management Software Joins the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association’s Mission To Promote Mental Health Profession In Canada
TORONTO, Canada – April 1, 2022 —
Owl Practice, a provider of powerful practice management software for mental wellness practitioners, has joined the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) in partnership to celebrate the inaugural Counselling and Psychotherapy Month.
Throughout April 2022, Counselling and Psychotherapy Month celebrates the important work of counsellors, counselling therapists, and psychotherapists throughout Canada. This month is meant to raise awareness about the importance of adequate access to counselling and psychotherapy services, especially as the pandemic has exacerbated the strain on Canada’s mental health care system.
With more than 8 years of providing support to mental health practitioners in Canada, Owl Practice is a trusted voice in the mental health community. As lead partner with CCPA, Owl Practice is honoured to support this mission as it closely aligns with the company’s goal of supporting all mental health professionals, and in turn, the ability for Canadians to access safe and secure counselling services.
“All of us at Owl Practice are very excited to be working with CCPA for Counselling and Psychotherapy Month. Our mission is to enable mental wellness for those in need through empowering therapists. We’ve been doing this since 2014, when we started by creating software to help my wife’s practice so she could manage her business more efficiently and better serve her clients. Since then, we’ve grown significantly, and our practice management solution is used by thousands of therapists every day across Canada to make their lives easier.”– Andrew Sloss, CEO of Owl Practice
Together with CCPA, Owl Practice is co-hosting various learning opportunities and advocacy initiatives throughout the month. In conjunction with the educational webinars hosted by CCPA, Owl Practice is offering multiple prizes to event participants, including a Grand Prize Giveaway of a one-year free subscription of their software.
Further highlights of Counselling and Psychotherapy Month include Yellow Day, a time to raise awareness of the profession through incorporating the colour yellow in daily activities on April 12, 2022, and a virtual Parliament Hill week from April 25-27, 2022, to appeal to the Federal Government and ensure equitable access to all mental health service providers for Canadians.
“Counsellors, counselling therapists, and psychotherapists are available to help Canadians. However, we need more recognition as eligible providers in public and private health benefit plans in order to help connect our practitioners with the Canadians who are struggling to access the mental health support they need.”– CCPA Ontario Anglophone Director, Rabeea Siddique
In addition to recognizing the important services provided by these practitioners, the goal of Counselling and Psychotherapy Month is to provide support and community building. All counsellors, counselling therapists and psychotherapists in Canada are encouraged to participate, regardless of if they are a member of CCPA or not.
